Homepage Submission Guidelines
Primary audience for the homepage is prospective students. Messages intended for faculty/staff only or current students only might be better for pipeline, life@wayne or e-mail.
Please provide advance notice of requests for promotion. We recommend two weeks or more.
Where to submit?
Please send all submissions to wcs@wayne.edu with the following information:
- requested homepage promotion area
- promotion start and end date
- required supporting information related to that area on the homepage (see below)
Main Panel Requirements
Accomplishment focus - The main panel is used to highlight accomplishments, speak positively about the university and to show the connection to the local and international community. The main panel is no longer used to promote upcoming events.
Please Provide - As much information as possible, including:
- any links to existing online stories or information
- photos (in the rawest format possible)
- video (preferably at 640x480, in AVI, DVD or Quicktime format and in the rawest, high-quality format).
Focus On
Prospective student focus- The focus on area is used as a permanent graphic for all visitors; it is primary used in conjunction with radio and outdoor adverstisements that direct prospective students to wayne.edu
Please Provide:
- type of promotion you will be doing (outdoor, radio, print)
- a sample, if possible, of the advertisement
- a link to where the button should take the user
Featured Events
Event focus - The featured events section is used to promote the large events on campus. The graphic gives the event some visual weights on the homepage. The event must appeal to a broad audience and be open to the public.
Please provide:
- event title
- URL to link to from the button
- any supporting visual material that we can use to match the look of the button to the event promotion
News and Events
News story or event with a Wayne State connection - The news and events on the homepage must have a connection to WSU as well as be open to the public.
Please provide:
- title of the news story or event
- the date of the event
- story or event URL
Any additional supporting material will also help us determine if your request meets the homepage criteria.
